Week 4 Recap

Brief Recap of Week 4

Order has been restored, the regular ref’s are back. All is right in the NFL, for now.

Packers/Saints – Sort of breaks my heart to see the Saints 0-4, I love Drew Bree’s as a person and a player. Bounty Gate has done a number on this team. At least they put up a respectable fight against the Packers this week. Bree’s had a good game throwing 35-54 (yes you read that right he attempted 54 passes) for 446 yards and 3 tds. Seems their lack of a rushing game is what did them in, Sproles was the top rusher for NO with 5 carries for 20 yds. Aaron "Discount Double Check” Rodgers looked much better this week, throwing 31-41 for 319 yds. and 4tds. Amazing what you can do when you are not sacked 9 times and are running for your life the whole game. GB was able to put up slightly better rushing numbers with Benson rushing 18 times for 84 yds. In the end GB edged out NO. Packers 28 – Saints 27

Giants/Eagles – I thought the Giants were going to dominate this game but looks like I was wrong. Both teams did not look that impressive. Giants need to improve their running game, your number 1 RB needs to put up more than 39 yards.  Hixon had a great game though 6 receptions for 114 yds. Looks like he is 100% after ACL surgery 2. Manning was the better QB stat wise this game, but Vick actually managed not to turn over the ball for a change this game and Shady McCoy ran all over the Giants and Osi, rushing for 123 yds. Came down to the very end, but Tynes missed a field goal for the win by about a yard or two. Giants 17 – Eagles 19

49ers/Jets – Not much to say here really. The 49ers whooped the Jets butts. Sanchez threw 13-29 for 103 yds. and 0 tds and their top rusher Shonn Greene had 11 carries for 34 yds. Perhaps Harbaugh was trying to demonstrate how Sparano and Rex should be using Tebow in the Wildcat effectively. Colin Kaepernick, Tebow type QB from Nevada, ran for an easy TD in the wildcat. Nothing looked easy for the Jets yesterday. SF rushed 2 players on a punt attempt by the Jets (yes only 2) and they somehow still managed to block the punt and set up the final TD. I know I am biased, but I think the Sanchise should get one more start and if he stinks up the field again then Tebow should get a shot. Someone needs to spark this offense. Final points, looks like the Jets have now also lost their best receiver Santonio Holmes for the season with an undetermined foot injury. Revis is still not on the IR because Ryan wants to keep the door open for his return if they make it to the Super Bowl. This is both baffling and funny. 1) I really do not see them making it to the Super Bowl, 2) who recovers from ACL surgery in 4-5 months???  49ers 34 – Jets 0

Patriots/Bills – Close game the 1st half, 2nd half  Brady and the Patriots dominated despite a nice game for Fitzpatrick. Patriots 52 – Bills 28

Raiders/Broncos – Glimpses of the old Peyton in week 4, 30-38 for 388 yds. and 3 tds. Always enjoyable to watch Peyton when he is having a great game and picking apart D’s. Palmer looked lackluster again for the Raiders. Raiders 6 – Broncos 37

Bears/Cowboys – Romo threw 5 interceptions, he is the only active QB to have multiple 5 interception games. I still give the guy credit; he is very Farve’esque and always trying to make something out of every play. Sometimes you just have to throw it away though. DeMarco Murray looked impressive running and receiving for the Cowboy’s. Dez Bryant not so much, seems to be communication issue with him and Romo. Witten managed not to drop any passes this game which was nice to see for a change this season. Still Cutler and the Bears managed to win this one. Cutler and Marshall are definitely looking like a dynamic duo; Hester is taking on a bigger overall role on the offense in addition to returning kick, and their D looks awesome. Now if only Forte can get and stay healthy the Bears will definitely be a possible Super Bowl contender.

Odds and Ends

3 undefeated teams left, Cardinals, Texans and Falcons. Arizona is by far the biggest surprise of the three. Are they for real??? I love Larry Fitzgerald so for his sake I hope they are.

Steelers look to have Harrison and Polamalu back this week vs. the Eagles. Their absence has definitely been felt by the defense.

Colts head coach has sadly been diagnosed with Leukemia. Wishing him a speedy and full recovery.

Tyler Sash is back from a 4 game suspension for the Giants. They have to 4pm Saturday to either waive a player or put one on IR to make room for him. I have a slight feeling, though I hope I am very wrong, that Hakeem may be going to the IR.

  2. If you're going to mix fashion and sports you can't ignore Tom Brady's fake hair. I want to know your thoughts on this.

  3. Tom Brady for sure has hair plugs. Got them last season, it's why he grew his hair out last season. I don't find him that attractive hair or no hair.

Wes Welker got hair plus in this offseason this year as well. Must be a Patriot thing.

  4. I think Tom's fake hair has a lot to do with his horse-faced wife. She simply could not tolerate anything less than perfection(ie going bald).

I predict a divorce in the next five years unless he wins at least 3 more Super Bowl rings.
